Midweek. Wednesday's child is full of woe, right? Symbollically filled with pain from my aching as a result my little field trips to the gym. I wasn't actually going to blog today, but then we sat down and watched american idol even though I suspect that Mei mei was meant to have been studying for her chem SPA (I love chem pracs!).

Mei mei: Eh, why that guy looks so funny?
Me: Um, he's scott. He's blind.
Mei Mei: .... Oh.

Ryan: "Jorge, from Puerto Rico...."
Mei mei: Is he even allowed in the competition?
(That sounds less funny here, but she really made it sound like he was an illegal immigrant trying to parade as an american. It was almost disgusted.)
Mei mei: And his eyebrows are a bit funny.... he's not blind also right?

For those of you who don't really follow American Idol, there's also this amazing singer called Lil Rounds which is such a cool sounding name. Yet, against the odds, my mother has single-handedly managed to make her name sound aunty.

Mum: What's that singer's name?
Mei and me: Lil Rounds
Mum: (pause) LEE-TERL rounds.
